Reporting on the bill (Reg. No.2827), the people’s deputy S.Hrynevetskyi, its author, noted that the bill aims at establishing preconditions for efficient functioning of national search and rescue system at sea and ensuring constant readiness to provide help to people, sea and air crafts that are in distress on the high seas in line to Ukraine’s obligations under international agreements.

People’s deputies believe that adoption of the bill will ensure effective fulfillment of Ukraine’s international legal obligations in the sphere of merchant shipping, particularly, establishment of sea state search and rescue service.
